Me, Webskills, and Blogging

I haven't created any blogs for several years since I made my first blog in 2008.

As the Webskills online course requires all of us to create our own blogs, I need to refresh myself how to create my new blog. And this is it! Though it's still far from my expectation, I'm sure that I will gradually improve the interface of my blog. I'm happy to create it anyway.

I found an interesting clip in Youtube entitled "A Vision of K-12 Students Today". Hopefully, it will motivate all of us to do our best in this online course.

  1. Hi Johanes
Welcome "back" to blogging. Since you know the technical aspects, it will be interesting for you to experience the user side of it, what it is like to keep the reflective journal online. There are of course many uses of blogs, and this is but one way to use them in a class.

  2. Cool video. I had seen it before but it definitely suits this course because we need to be 21st century teachers to cater to the needs of our 21st century students

  3. Hi Johanes,

First of all I would like to say that I feel impressed after seeing the video you shared with us. I watced a similar one last year about the “net generation” and it sends the same message. It is like a warning. While I was watching this video from your blog I imagine my students telling me that. They want to innovate since early ages. Even my son wants to use the computer to practice letters and numbers and he is in 1st Grade, so imagine what a teenager wants to do or create?

If they have access to all of these tools in their environment why we as teacher cannot be facilitator on the good use of technology in their lives? You have given me more things to think about.

Thanks for sharing this video. The main message I can see is that we “teachers” are the ones who can improve our children’s education. It is a big challenge for us.

I am sure we are going to learn great things to implement in our classes according to our own reality. We adopt approaches and techniques but we are the ones in charge of adapting them into our real life in classes.

Nice meeting you and greetings from Nicaragua.
